Father Albert G. Roux

Please pray for the soul of Father Albert G. Roux who died on March 9, 2023, at the age of 85.

Father Roux was born in Lewiston on October 9, 1937, the son of George and Regina (Gauthier) Roux. He attended Lewiston schools and then St. Hyacinth Seminary and St. Pual Seminary in Ottawa, Canada. He was ordained in 1966.

Through his many years of active ministry, Father Roux served at parishes in Auburn, Augusta, Biddeford, Lewiston, Limestone, Madawaska, Sanford, St. Francis, St. John, and Yarmouth.

His deep devotion to the Blessed Mother also led to his appointment as the national director for The Marian Movement of Priests in 1977, a position he continued to hold until 2010. Father Roux traveled around the United States, promoting devotion to the Blessed Mother.

After he retired from active ministry, Father Roux served as a spiritual assistant for the St. Francis of Assisi Secular Franciscan Fraternity in Lewiston.
