Vocations & Seminarians

All Maine Catholics are invited to participate in a novena for priests and vocations to the priesthood each evening starting on Thursday, July 27, and running through Friday, August 4, the feast day of St. John Vianney (patron saint of parish priests).

Fr. Alex will host a children’s paint session to teach youngsters the basics of painting on Wednesday, August 16, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the youth room of St. Louis Church, located on 26 East Main Street in Fort Kent.

During a retreat at St. Anthony’s Franciscan Monastery in Kennebunk last week, seminarians of the Diocese of Portland, along with Monsignor Andrew Dubois (diocesan director of the Office of Seminarians), joined in the jubilee celebration of Bishop Robert Deeley.

Father Patrick Machayi, SMA, has been named a parochial vicar of All Saints Parish in Brunswick effective July 5.

Regardless of age, the program promises to provide unforgettable weeks of faith formation and fun.

​​​​​​​The Catholic Church will celebrate the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests on Friday, June 16. Established by Saint John Paul II in 2002, the celebration occurs annually on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
