Two Road Races at St. John Paul II Parish in Scarborough to Benefit Holy Cross School and South Portland Food Cupboard

SCARBOROUGH---Two upcoming road races, including kids fun run events, will benefit money for a pair of worthy causes.

The St. Max 5K Road Race and Kids Fun Run will be held in Scarborough on Friday, August 26. The event is a benefit for the South Portland Food Cupboard and will begin at 6 p.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church on 150 Black Point Road. Same day registration starts at 4:30 p.m. The kids fun run is free and begins at 5:30 p.m. This event is being sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council #11747.To pre-register or for more information, click here. Started in 1997, the South Portland Food Cupboard is located on 130 Thadeus Street. The pantry is open on Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the first Wednesday of every month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The pantry helps over 700 households per month. The Autumn N’ Ales 5K/10K/Half Marathon Road Race will be held on Sunday, September 25, at the American Legion Post 76 on Manson Libby Road in Scarborough. The proceeds will benefit Holy Cross School in South Portland and Eastern Trail Alliance. The event will also include a beer garden, for participants ages 21 and older, provided by Nonesuch River Brewing. For more information or to register, click here.
