"Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear its own fruit unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches." (John 15:4-5).

Middle school students are invited to register and participate in ABIDE, a day of reflection that will be held December 9 at St. Mary of the Visitation Church in Houlton and again on December 10 at St John Church in Bangor. During the day, youths in grades 6 -8 will discover the meaning of Jesus’ words: “Abide in me, as I abide in you” (Jn 15:4). What does it mean to abide? What does it mean to abide in Christ? And how does that translate to our daily lives?

“We invite middle school students to take a day to discover what it truly means to abide in Jesus,” said Shawn Gregory, coordinator of youth ministry for the Diocese of Portland. “By knowing and loving him, we are better able to serve him.”

Youths interested in attending should register through their parish middle school youth ministry coordinators.
