National Bible Week

November 15 - 21, 2015

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Dei Verbum (the Vatican II Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation) on November 18, the Catholic Church in the United States is participating for the first time in National Bible Week.

The event, to be held November 15-21, is being promoted by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Association of Catholic Publishers.

Enthroning the Bible at Home

The Bible should not be a dusty book on the shelf, but rather, it should be honored, read, and proclaimed.  As Stephen J. Binz tells us, it is the family album of the people of God.  The link below provides a history of Bible enthronement, an explanation, and a ritual for Catholic homes.
