Journey 2017

Come and Journey!

October 27-29
Saint Dominic Academy
121 Gracelawn Road, Auburn

Journey is an annual retreat for high school youth who seek to grow and deepen their relationship with Jesus.  The weekend offers the opportunity to embark on the journey with Jesus to more intimately encounter him, to embrace his invitation and call, and to echo the Risen Lord with our lives!  The celebration of Mass, perpetual eucharistic adoration and the opportunity to receive the sacrament of reconciliation will be offered throughout the weekend.

The retreat features intentional small group times, community building and free time, and “real” and inspiring talks, such as “Will You Let Me Love You?”, “Will You Trust My Love?”, “Will You Listen For My Voice?”, “Will You Give Me Your Heart?”, and “Will You Risk It All?” John Angotti, a well-known music missionary who has traveled the world providing inspirational music and faith witness through concerts, will present at the retreat.

Journey is sponsored by the Office of Lifelong Faith Formation in partnership with the Office of Vocations.

All parish groups should arrive on Friday, October 27, between 5 and 5:30 p.m. to register.  The retreat begins with dinner at 5:30 p.m.  The latest participants should arrive is Friday at 6 p.m.

The retreat concludes with Sunday Mass as 11 a.m. All parents and other family members are invited to join us for the Mass.   Retreat participants will then have a bagged lunch to either eat onsite or take with them.  Departure is by 1 p.m.

A complete schedule will be available soon.
The cost of the weekend is $100 per participant (both for youth and adults).  This includes all meals, overnight accommodations, the program, and a T-shirt.

Registration and Deadlines:
All registration is being coordinated through your parish youth ministry coordinator or designated parish leader.  All forms and fees must be submitted to your parish leader in time for him/her to register your parish group.  The deadline for all registrations of parish groups is by noon on October 13.

Youth and their accompanying adults will spend the night on the classroom floors at Saint Dominic Academy on Friday and Saturday night.  Air mattresses and camping mats are encouraged.

Transportation and Safe Environment:
All youth must be accompanied by adults. No more than one adult per seven youths should accompany the teens from your parish. However, we ask that both a male and a female adult accompany the group if both genders of youths are participating, as sleeping quarters are separated by floors. All adult participants and drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
