The new English translation of the Roman Missal has meant that some familiar melodies to the parts of the Mass which we normally sing will no longer be in use. Once you change the number of syllables in any given line of text, it just doesn’t fit the same melody any more. Music ministers, choirs, and will need to learn new melodies to accompany the texts like Glory to God, Holy Holy, and the Memorial Acclamations.
