Prayer in honor of Saint Benedict

Almighty and everlasting God, your precepts are the wisdom of a loving Father: Give us grace, following the teaching and example of your servant Benedict, to walk with loving and willing hearts in the school of the Lord's service; let your ears be open to our prayers; and prosper with your blessing the work of our hands; through Jesus Christ our Lord...Amen.

Prayer in honor of Saint Scholastica

O God, to show us where innocence leads, you made the soul of your virgin Saint Scholastica soar to heaven like a dove in flight. Grant through her merits and her prayers that we may so live in innocence as to attain to joys everlasting. This we ask through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.

Quote from St. Teresa of Avila

“Prayer is nothing else than being on terms of friendship with God.”

Join the Sisters of Transfiguration Hermitage for prayer and reflection at their new retreat house. St. Moira's Retreat House, which opened in 2010, offers simple, yet spacious accomodations. Click here to learn more about upcoming retreats.

Vocations Prayer
United States Conference of Catholic Bishops

Gracious and loving God, help the
men and women of our parish to hear the
call to serve in the Diocesse of Portland
Our needs are great and our people
thirst for your presence.

Open the hearts of many, raise up
faithful servants of the Gospel, dedicated,
holy priests, sisters, brothers and deacons,
who will spend themselves for your people and their needs.

Bless those who are serving now
with courage and perseverance.
Grant that many will be inspired by their
example and faith.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
